I’m a longtime fan of Julia Sawalha and loved her in every role she played. When you watch her, you think: wow, this must be her real character she’s playing, it looks completely natural. I loved her as Mercy in Martin Chuzzlwit, as Maria Hornblower, as Lydia, as Jessie Brown and now, her crowing achievement – as Dorcas Lane.

She was born to play that role and the series simply would not be the same without her wit, charm and determination.

I have rarely seen a more expressive face and never heard a more expressive voice. She can play anything she wants. She will last and become greater and greater. She is so beautiful she hardly needed to be talented and so talented that she could do without her beauty – I think this was said about Vivien Leigh but it’s true for Julia, too.

I wish I could tell her in person. And I’m very glad she gets such wonderful reactions!

I´m from Sweden and I`m so happy that they send Lark Rise here. It`s a wonderful series. Julia Sawalha, I think, it`s an insperation:)

Julia has a wonderful way of being able to use her facial expressions to set the tones of a scene-it’s really remarkable. I’m VERY surprised that she hasn’t been nominated for some awards for this series b/c she is definitely deserving based on many various scenes. I hope there is a S4 where we continue to see more depth to her character, her inner emotions, and possible a love interest who is truly right for her….
