Say goodbye to Lark rise, farewell to Candleford

How are you feeling about the end of this smashing series?

With tonight’s final episode is this the last we’ll see of Lark Rise?

Is there any hope of a reprieve for the show or a movie?

Where you satisfied with the ending?

I must be reading this wrong……………?
Cancelled ~ but why? It is the only ‘series’ program
that my husband and I watch. Not even ‘dancing with the stars,’ or any of these other programs do we follow, but we do follow LarkRise. How very sad.

I recently found this wonderful series on PBS in the US. So sorry that it is ending, but I have ordered all the DVDs. Loved the ending tonight — so tidy and satisfying to see everything end happily! Look forward to watching the DVDs to fill in the details. Bravo to the BBC for another excellent series.

I just finished watching this lovely series and checked on Amazon to see when Season 5 will become available. However, I could not find it, so I checked the BBC Website only to realise that it had been CANCELLED!! What a pity!! I wonder why BBC decided to cancel it since it was so popular.
Please please bring it back.
Thanks.

I was not happy with the ending. I want to see Laura and Daniel, Dorcus and Gaberiel, and Alfe and winnie get married I wanted to see Mrs. Brown go through her pregnancy, and the things that folllow with Thomas and a baby. Just think of all the possible story lines here. I think its a shame to cancel this show. Its the only thing I watch. This show was very well liked in the United States. I can’t believe they would end it only after four seasons. Its a shame. I will miss it.

So enjoyed the series, and sorry that it has ended!
Both my husband and I watched it every Friday on PBS,
and enjoyed following all the people’s lives. I would have continued to watch it, so very sorry to see it ended.

I always look forward on Sunday to watching this. Not much on TV these days and this show has been such a treat-so good for the PBS stations.Sad to see it go.

This series has been such a refreshing change from all the violence and totally boring reality shows to be found on American television. Larkrise to Candleford is my “Harry Potter”! I never want it to end! I am disappointed to learn the last episodes are now being aired on PBS in San Diego, California. I hope someday a more courageous producer will resurrect this wonderfully entertaining series and once again bring calm and serenity into otherwise very stressful and overly busy lives.

This is such sad news! The show is the best on the BBC! It is a wholesome, fun, and well acted show. The talented cast of characters made it a must see! Please BRING it back!

You must bring this show back!!!!! Now!!!! And bring it to a proper conclusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the best show on earth and now you have dicided to cancel it. What would Dorkis say, Thomas Brown, or Laura!!!!! We did not get to see Laura publish anything or get married or her dad come back to the family. There are so much more how could it possibly end there. What discrase you must be ashamed!!!!!!! Bring it back!!!!! Please!!!!!

I am so sorry, so very sad, to know I have but three episodes left to watch in Season 4… and then what do I have to look forward to in any form of drama, British or American? I cannot imagine BBC will manage to find other stories with as wholesome and hopeful and human of a story, let alone such a brilliant script writer who brought this diary to life. I bought the book… and see all the more the really incredible genius of Bill Gallagher. I read of a new series based on Charles Dickens; I cannot fathom anything nearly so endearing and hopeful from his writings.
There are series that continued for years as a result of fresh writing and characters. Surely the vision of BBC is not so limited as to be unable to imagine such a possibility in this wealth of material and genius writing and stunning casting.
I find nothing else of equal in television or movies. I must read books only now to find anything of equal depth or inspiring quality.
Surely your decision is not irrevocable? Ah yes, contracts and business dealings and profits and PR and all that.
But can you imagine the joy you would bring if you would bring back the series? I never write in such forums, but I must now, simply to voice one more plea to reconsider. Even if it means some challenges in reversing your decision, perhaps you could imagine the good you would do in uplifting hearts and souls and lives once again.

So sad as I have just found out series has been cancelled and can’t believe it!! So much more could have been added to story lines. Actors so fantastic. My hubby and I loved it. Why cancel now, why not a series or more completed, why end at episode 6? All other series at least went to 12 etc.? I have never written in a forum as this before but felt compelled to do so. I just can’t believe it. Please reconsider? The show, writers, actors and all that worked on the series should be proud to have achieved such an outstanding period drama series, Such love, happiness and warmth! Always made me very “happy” to watch Lark Rise to Candleford and I know I am not alone. Good luck to all that made show possible but still can’t believe it has ended. Shame, Shame!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Lark Rise to Candleford series and had to buy all 4 seasons!! Thank you for putting out such an amazing, quality, production! I so appreciated that it stressed good morals in it, something that is lacking in many shows/series today. Is there any chance of any Christmas special coming out for all the fans who quite adore the show? I thought it would be lovely to have a special where Dorcas Lane at last gets married to her sweetheart Gabriel.
Blessings,
Anne-Marie

So, so sad. We must have another season of LR to C. There are so few quality shows to watch these days – this show is television’s salvation – and my one true weakness. Devoted fan from Canada.
